The Coordination Centre for Men in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC)
Over the next few years, we will work together with policy makers and key players in the ECEC field to achieve a significant increase in the number of male educators working in ECEC centres. We see this as an important contribution to increasing diversity in early childhood education and care and to improving the quality of educational practices in ECEC centres.
Our study on ‘Male Educators in Kitas (Early Childhood Education and Care Facilities)’ funded by the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) is now available in English. The study summarizes the findings of a qualitative and quantitative survey conducted from 2008 to 2009 by Michael Cremers, Jens Krabel and Marc Calmbach.
